Neno EPA has 22, 930 farm families from 81 villages. All along, they have been growing crops with chemical fertilizer. However, the fertilizer is proving either too costly or not available at all to the smallholder farmers. Therefore, the member of parliament for the area, Hon. Thoko Tembo, has initiated the pilot project to try organic Bionitrate fertilizer. It’s cheaper and readily available. It has performed effectively on crops elsewhere.
